How to prepare soft Idly

Fermentation of the Idly batter is the Key thing for the soft idly's

Ingredients:

  1. Rice 3 cups(Soak for 4 hours)
  2. Urad dhal 1 cup and Methi/Fenu greek seeds 1 table spoon(Soak for 4 hours)
  3. Salt.
  4. Water
Steps
  1. Grind Rice until it is smooth
  2. Grind Urad dhal and Methi seeds
  3. Mix both the above using Hand.(Mixing through Hand is very important since it helps in fermenting)
  4. Keep aside for 8 hours or Until it ferments(You can add yeast for this)
  5. Fermenting is very important in this process otherwise idly wont come soft rather it becomes very hard
  6. Add salt before preparing.Dont add salt before it ferments since it slow down the fermenting process
